On the 29th Day of Christmas
Santa brought to me

A great idea for an ornament!
So I am sharing it with all of you
Today I am personally posting :)

My gift to You is a post on
 "Bead Wreath's for your Tree"
I wanted to add more color to my tree. but I had a hard time finding oranges for my tree. If you walk down the christmas aisle in walmart you can find every color BUT orange.
So I found some nice glass beads and pearls These are very easy to make. String the beads & pearls onto clear fishing wire and tie off. Add a ribbon where you tied off (to cover the knot) and add more to it.

Supplies: Beads, fish line (or wire) & Ribbon
These cost me .75 each if not less.

Summer Splash Wreath

"And she'll have fun fun fun
Til her daddy takes the t-bird away "

Celebrating the fun vibrate colors that remind you of summer I make a summer wreath and had a splashing good time doing it.

Supplies (most of these things I had or bought at the local dollar store) It cost me $4.00 to make.
  •  Colorful plastic hanger
  • 6 pack colored hawaiian leis
  • big plastic sunglasses
  • faux flower
  • beads
  • rhinestones
  • Tim Holz Grunge letters
  • Martha Stewart micro glass beads
  • flock
  • hot glue
  • cardboard
  • hole punch
  • alcohol ink

I started with cutting up my leis (once you cut into the twine holding them together, they unravel quite easily).  I cut multiply 6" long pieces of each of the 6 colors. Once you have a bunch of these cut. choose the order you wish the colors to be applied in. I chose yellow, orange, red, blue, purple then green. I applied 3 pieces of each color at a time double knotting them directly onto the hanger.

Then I hot glued my white flower onto my fun yellow glasses. In the center of the flower I hot glued red stones and white rhinestones.

The Last little touch was to make the Splash word.
To make this word I used Tim Holz grungeboard letters.
Each one of them I covered in glue, then either micro glass beads or flocking.
then taking my cardboard piece I sprayed some grey alcohol ink on it then mounted the letters with hot glue, I drew a black outline around the entire word and made circles at the time (one on each side for hanging) then cut around the entire outline. Hole punched in the middle of the 2 circles. then taking some longer strips of the leis I was able to hang the saying to the hanger.

Then I also took 18" long pieces of each of the leis colors and tied a bow to the top of the hanger and there you have it.

Happy Summer !!

Patriotic Wreath

I am in love with my new front door wreath.
It just screams patriotic joy.
what's great about this wreath is that it can work for may and july.

Supplies to make this wreath

paper
scissors
black marker
glue gun
cardboard
tissue paper
love
Here's how I made it:

Start by cutting out a 7 1/2" circle from chipboard or cardboard
(this was the back of cereal box)
Make 3 more circles for guidelines: 5", 3" and 1 1/2" circles.
This is were you are going to place the scrolls.

To make the scrolls you will need 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" sheets of paper
If you want the black edges on the front you place the marks on the left and top.
On the back it will be all the way across the top and 1/2 way down the right side.

Now how to curl it. front facing down, grab the top left corner and start to roll diagonally towards right bottom side of paper. Once your scroll is complete secure it with a dab of hot glue.

Getting your scrolls ready for the wreath. flatten the bottom end of scroll. Cut off about 2-2 1/2" off the bottom of your scroll. This will make it easier to add onto the wreath.

Start adding your scrolls. the cut off end of your scroll will line up with the pink 5" circle.
while adding more work in one direction and overlap a little.

Your second layer is the green 3" circle and the 3rd layer is the orange 1 1/2" circle.
(don't let my 2nd layer photo confuse you, the one on the left. In that picture the red is the 1st layer and the white is the 2nd layer, it's from my first wreath)

When you get all 3 layers put on the middle hole is going to be a bit deep. To fix this I took small pieces cardboard and stacked them until it filled the hole.

Now for the center. I cut out a 3" circle and covered it with red tissue paper. then applied it to the stacked cardboard pieces.

Your probably wondering, so how do I make the fantastic flowers to add to the front.

Happy Patriotic JOY!!!

Shamrock Wreath

Here is my latest and greatest door wreath.
made of the new wreath toole, various ribbons, tutu toole, heart shaped
 wire wreaths and wooden letters

To make the Kiss Me Words on this wreath. I both a medium K and M
and smaller i, s, and e wood letters from hobby lobby.

To decorate your letters:
Turn the letter upside down onto the decorative paper you want to use.

Trace around the letter

Here is what it will look like once you have traced and cut the letter out.

Before I decoupaged the scrapbook paper onto the letters I painted the
tops and sides of each letter in brown (any paint will work).

They are now all decoupaged and looking stylin.

But I didn't stop there. I took the same brown paint from above.
grabbed a sponge brush lightly dipped it into the paint and tapped it onto the
side of the letters to make it look a bit rustic/steampunkish.

To make the frame for my 3 leaf clover. I found 3 small wire heart shaped
wreaths from hobby lobby. I placed them as pictured below and
then took ribbon and tied the wreaths together.
Now that you have your base frame. Add tools, ribbon and all the fixings.

Have fun and be creative!!!

Making a Ribbon Wreath

Today I am going to teach you how to make a door wreath with ribbon and a wire wreath. I chose to use green, yellow and orange ribbon to match my party.
I picked this wire wreath form up at joann’s for $1.99
First I tied the yellow ribbon the the inner 2 wires.
Then the orange to the outer 2 wires
then the green to the middle 2 wires
Continue to do the steps over and over again.
This is what the back of the wreath look like
Continue the 3 steps all the way around the wreath until it looks like this. Once you are at this stage, grab your scissors and start curling.
Here is the finished look.
If you have any questions please let me know. thanks
