Trick or Treat Halloween Home Decor

Halloween IS my favorite holiday. I love all the witches, monsters and fairy's that come out in October. Everywhere you look you see awesome Halloween decorations. I think I have more Halloween decorations then I do Christmas ones. I was so excited to be apart of the 30 days of Halloween Series that Allison Miller from Cupcake Diaries is holding. Come back everyday to check out what awesome Halloween Treat you will get from a different Blogger everyday. There's bound to be something that tickles your fancy.

I decided to post about my fun "Trick or Treat" wood block decoration. I had a lot of fun painting and decorating these. Each piece of wood started off with a base coat of black, purple or orange paint. Then on the trick blocks I added a layer of black & purple scrapbook paper, then another layer over that using drywall tape painted black, the or is purple and then the treat was covered in cheese cloth and then dabbed with a black ink pad. then to finish them off I added little bling stones on each letter.

When using them in your home you could display them a couple different way.

  •  My photo's show me using orange Easter grass placed around the base of the letters
  • You could use a cupcake stand and place each word on a different tier and then drape: cheese cloth, Easter grass, streamers, etc. around the words and up and down the stand
  • You could hang them on the wall with that white tacky stuff.
  • You could glue them to the front of a door wreath.
there are lots of possibilities with wood projects. Think outside the box.

Happy Halloween Everyone!!!

Carrie

    1. Thanks Lindsay. I had a lot of fun putting this one together and using some of my newer mixed media finds to add texture to these.
