Purse Upcycle Part 1

My favorite purse is finally falling apart enough that I have to get a new one.
I was having a hard time just tossing out my beloved purse.
So I have decided to take this opportunity to upcycle it into other things.
My first project is turning the handles into flowers for my hair.

So I cut off the handles , removed the buttons (which were from a prior project where I fixed the handles months ago). Then cut the ends off.

Use tweezers or your fingers, grab the core and pull it clean out.

Cut notches into the handle roughly 1/2" apart.

To sew the flower. bend over one of the ends and start stitching it from seam to seam.
continue to turn and stitch until you get to the other end.

The finished flower. I think it is fantastic.

Happy sewing!
